December 10, 2019 saw the unveiling and ribbon cutting ceremony for Nikkiso Cosmodyne India Private Limited. The facility was redesigned to have an expanded engineering capability able to produce air separation plants with cryogenic cold boxes and warm equipment modules, as well as Nikkiso group products to ISO 9001:2015 in a lowcost manufacturing facility with high-end quality.
The inauguration ribbon cutting ceremony was done by representatives of the main group companies. Peter Wagner unveiled a plaque at the
site and the upgraded facility was officially inaugurated with Peter Wagner, George Pappagelis, Bruce van Dongen, Rohit Batarakhaye,
Patrick Billman, Tim Born and Peter Sniezynski jointly cutting the ribbon for the new factory and the Nikkiso ACD manufacturing facility.
New equipment was procured to enable high accuracy and low-risk manufacturing with increased manufacturing efficiency for columns, heat exchangers and cold box internals. Some of the main equipment purchases were a large table CNC abrasive water cutting machine, automated long seam and circumferential seam welding machines, state-of-the-art aluminum welding machines, CNC pipe bending machines up to 6” diameter to minimize cold box welding, aluminum plate bending machines, aluminum plate rolling machines, distillation tray spot welders and an expanded clean room facility. Equipment to manufacture heat exchangers such as tube-to-tube sheet orbital welding machine and tube expansion tools were also purchased. Facility improvements include a new roof, epoxy floors and new offices for both the engineering and quality departments, and expanded stores for safe material storage. The previous facility Rhine Engineering Private Limited will now be known by the legal name Nikkiso Cosmodyne India Pvt. Ltd.
This facility is now set up to enable the Nikkiso group of companies to have a first world manufacturing center in a low manufacturing base.
