Wurzen, Germany – Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG) announced today that it has completed the multimillion-Euro expansion of its fabrication facility in Wurzen, Saxony, Germany, doubling manufacturing capacity in Europe.
In a further commitment to its customers in Europe, Nikkiso CE&IG can also confirm the opening of an office in Hamburg in response to growing demand for its services in the marine market.
With the additional space in Wurzen, Nikkiso CE&IG will add cryogenic pump assembly, heat exchanger manufacturing and hydrogen systems to its existing capabilities for carbon capture solutions. The additional capabilities – part of Nikkiso CE&IG’s existing offering, but now manufactured in Europe as well as locations in North America and Asia - meets market demand for cryogenic equipment and plant solutions used in clean energy projects like hydrogen fueling stations, LNG and ammonia terminals, and hydrogen production plants. The expansion was supported through public funding provided by the Free State of Saxony and the Federal Government of Germany under the GRW investment grant program reflecting the strategic importance of our innovation-driven approach to industrial development and clean energy solutions.
The new office in Hamburg complements Nikkiso CE&IG’s existing locations in Neuenburg and Wurzen, strengthening its presence in Europe and its ability to serve customers across the region. As well as its place as a hub for the marine market, Hamburg’s strong position in hydrogen innovation also aligns with Nikkiso CE&IG’s offering.
Ole Jensen, Regional Vice-President for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Nikkiso CE&IG, said: “Demand for our full range of products continues to increase in Europe as the market evolves and the energy transition gathers pace. Therefore, investing in our manufacturing capacity and expanding our range here is a crucial part of our strategy and allows us to be close to the customers we serve.
“Our partners in the marine market in particular are looking for innovative ways to both fuel the ships of the future and transport gases like LNG, hydrogen and ammonia – our new location in Hamburg is part of our strategy to support these customers in their own energy transition journey.”
